The importer reads a CSV file, matches its columns to Propulator's fields, skips duplicates and shows you every problem row before anything is saved.
Prepare Your File
Export your list as a .csv file from your spreadsheet or old CRM. Check that:
- The first row holds the column names.
- Every row has a name or a company.
- The file has 5,000 rows or fewer.
- Tags are separated by commas, semicolons or a vertical bar.
Upload the File
Open Contacts and choose Import. Drop the file on the page, or use Choose file.
Only .csv files are accepted. Split a file with more than 5,000 rows first.
Map Your Columns
Columns are matched by their names. Check each field and change any match, or set it to Not in file. A preview shows your first 5 rows.
- Name
- Full name, or first and last name. A full name is split at the last space.
- Contact details
- Company, two phones, two emails and a mailing address.
- Type
- Seller, Buyer, Agent or Other. Words like owner, lead, cash buyer, investor, realtor and broker are understood too. A blank type becomes Seller.
- Tags and notes
- Up to 20 tags per contact, each up to 40 characters, plus notes.
Map a name or a company, then choose Continue.
Review Before Importing
Propulator checks every row and shows how many are New, Duplicates skipped and Rows with errors.
A contact is a duplicate when an email or phone matches someone in your contacts, or a row earlier in the file. Duplicates are skipped, never merged. Rows with errors are listed with the reason, and you can download them as a CSV with an Error column, fix them and import again.
Import
Choose the import button, which shows how many contacts will be added. When it's done, choose View contacts.
If the connection drops partway, choose Try again. The import picks up where it stopped.
Importing Properties
Properties import the same way from Properties, Import. Each row needs a street plus a ZIP, or a city and state.
You can also bring in the owner name, mailing address, parcel ID, county, values, beds, baths, square feet, year built, last sale and tags. A property is a duplicate when its street, unit and ZIP, or its parcel ID, match one you have.
